Communities in the islands of Java and Bali are currently implementing the PPKM level 4 program by the government. This PPKM is implemented with the aim of reducing the number of COVID-19 pandemic outbreaks in the community as a whole.

The implementation of the level 4 PPKM program also has an impact on community activities and the economy in various regions that implement the PPKM. Of course, this can have an impact on the community in various aspects of their daily activities.

In line with this, Perum BULOG distributed rice social assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs to Beneficiary Families (KPM) in the province of Bali through cooperation with DNR Corporation as the transpoter. The distribution of this assistance was carried out in order to ease the burden on the community in the process of fulfilling their daily basic needs.

This step in distributing rice social assistance also goes hand in hand with a government program where the government is present to ensure the needs of the community during the implementation of PPKM level 4 in various regions in the country.

People are Happy, Rice Received in Consumption-Worthy Condition

Ni Luh Sulyantini, a resident from Pererenan Village, Mengwi, Badung, admitted that she was happy and very grateful when she received the rice social assistance from Perum BULOG.

"We can only say thank you for the rice social assistance that has been given to us. In addition, we also hope that this assistance program can continue in the future," he said in an interview in the field.

Rice is indeed one of the basic needs needed by the community to fulfill their daily food needs. With the distribution of rice social assistance from Perum BULOG, the community is slightly helped in terms of fulfilling their daily basic needs.

"The rice we get is of good quality and very useful for us. The quality of the rice is also good and delicious to cook," he added in a statement.

In order to guarantee one part of these basic needs, Perum BULOG Bali conveyed its guarantee of the supply of rice that it distributed to the Balinese people directly. This step is taken so that the rice aid is suitable for consumption by the community.

"This is actually local rice in Bali that we stocked beforehand, so we can distribute it according to the data. The rice that we distribute has been strictly checked in terms of quality and quantity. If it does not meet the standards, we will reject it immediately," said Suhardi, Head of the Bali Regional Division of the Public Logistics Agency (Perum BULOG Divre).

Terrain and Weather Are Challenges for DNR Logistics in Delivering Social Assistance Rice

The series of rice social assistance distribution from Perum BULOG in Bali province is also supported by the distribution network owned by DNR Corporation through its business unit, DNR Logistics. On this occasion, DNR itself cooperated in the distribution of rice social assistance to the community which had previously been appointed as the transporter in its distribution.

In its delivery as a transporter, DNR Logistics certainly always coordinates with various parties and especially for the distribution of PPKM Phase I Rice Social Assistance in extreme areas such as in the Nusa Penida area, Klungkung.

"So delivery to difficult villages. But if it's a matter of data, we have received it directly from the ministry. So that the delivery can be in accordance with KPM data," said Arif Subhan as a representative from DNR.

In addition to extreme areas, the delivery of the rice social assistance also experienced other obstacles, namely in terms of terrain and also the weather that was passed in the process of sending the rice to the people in the Bali area.

"We still maintain the distribution of rice so that it is not wet, so that the quality is maintained until it reaches the hands of the people who receive it," Arif added in his statement.

It should be noted that DNR Corporation has earned the trust to deliver Perum BULOG's rice social assistance to KPM from the Ministry of Social Affairs in 15 provinces in Indonesia. What was done by DNR was the second time where in the previous year, the company also won the trust to deliver rice social assistance in the same 15 provinces and was able to win 3 MURI records for its success in social assistance program activities in 2020.
